G2 Outfitters T-top canvas installation instructions.
The only accessories needed for installation are 8-10 plastic zip ties, and scissors to remove the zip ties after installation.
The “Top side” of the canvas is the side that does not have the extra piece of material sewn to the top where the grommets are seated. You can see what looks like a “hem” on the underside , or bottom of the canvas.
Lay the canvas over the top of the frame. Use zip ties to secure the top to the frame so that it is centered with an equal distance from the edge of the canvas to the frame, all the way around the canvas.
Tie one end of the Dacron cord to the frame at the aft, center location of the frame. This will be the start and finish point of the lacing.
From the start point you can go in either direction. Take the end of the cord that is not tied to the frame, and pass it UP through the closest grommet that’s in the direction you choose to lace the top on. After passing it through pull the cord all the way through the grommet. With the cord on top of the canvas, move to the next grommet and pass the end of the cord through the grommet and pull all the cord through. Next, pass the cord under and around the frame tube, going up, and passing the end through the same grommet you just put the cord through. Pull the cord through the grommet and move to the next grommet and continue this pattern until the top is completely laced on. You can apply tension and snug up the cord to keep things tight so that the canvas is securely held down to the frame. When you end the process at your starting point, wrap the cord around the frame a half dozen times, pulling the cord tight. You can then tie the cord to the initial cord that goes through the first grommet.
There are several variations to this method. You can visit Youtube and search “T-top Lacing” for alternate styles and tips.

The video below is an example of one way to lace your top on. The video is from the Stryker T-top company. We will be adding our own video installation series as time permits. Most topics that apply to T-top installation are covered on YouTube. You are responsible for the removal of the old canvas and the installation of there new canvas.
Please note, making a hole in these materials is very easy. The method shown in the video for making a hole in Sunbrella also works for other fabrics like Weblon and Sunbrella SeaMark.
